Bird on a Limb is a pattern you can have fun with.  There are several options to choose from in constructing this vertical quilt.  The entire pattern can be hand appliqué or machine appliqué.  Another option is to machine sew the background and hand appliqué the bird and the limb.  The fabrics used can create many different effects as pictures.  Instructions for this pattern include both techniques for the beginner with complete instructions and diagrams for mitered corners and binding for a finished quilt and a quilting design for the frame border.  The skill level is Basic Plus depending on the technique used to construct Bird on a Limb.  Approximate finished size with frame is 15" c 18".
